MAITRI Club

MAITRI club was formed at the begining of this year in 2008. Our founder, Mr. Vicharn Charenphorn was already toiling with this club idea since last year. Together with his long time alliance, Mr. Prasert Chaipradit, who is also our Chairman, MAITRI was formed.

MAITRI's vision is to foster Buddhism's Dhamma practise in bringing value to our community.

The rationales behind establishing MAITRI.
Vicharn share the same thoughts as Paul P. Harris, the founder of Rotary Club.

" Individual efforts when well directed can accomplish much, but the greatest good must necessarily come from the combined efforts of many men. Individual efforts may be turned to individual needs but combined effort should be dedicated to the service of mankind. The power of combined efforts knows no limitation. " Paul P. Harris, The Rotarian, July 1917

Vicharn and Prasert chose the name MAITRI which means fellowship. They want a fellowship that combines resources of all individuals to bring values to the community.

In Thailand, there are many good teachers like Luang Por Dam of Wat Mai (Naparam) Tak Bai, Luang Por Thong Poon of Wat Ban Paen Ayuthaya, that Malaysians hope to meet and make offering to them, seeking their blessings. However most of the good teachers are reluctant to come to Malaysia because some of them have been exploited for commercial gains when invited by unethical amulets traders. However we believe they will be more receptable when invited by a non-profit oriented club or establishment.

MAITRI's missions

  • To promote Buddhism through proper Dhamma practise.

  • To promote practising dana/wholesome charity as means to improve one's Karma.

  • Give social service and welfare to the less fortunate accross all race and religion.
